Build Nature Connection and Mentorship into the fabric of work, family and community

This 9-month immersion program for adults is a deep-dive into the frameworks and tools of Nature Connection and Mentorship as practiced at The Guelph Outdoor School. This unique, effective, and timely course is an excellent option for parents, educators, social workers, occupational therapists, and anyone with young people in their lives, and anyone who knows that the nature connection journey is central to individual and community health.

The Course:

9 Monthly Sessions starting in March.  Sessions are generally the 2nd Sunday of every month and run from 1pm to 4pm. The first Sunday of the series is an Introductory & Welcome Session for distributing materials, outlining the course content & agreements.

This course is not strictly academic and requires participants to push their edges in a number of ways. Home study includes personal and group projects (avg. 4 - 10 hrs / month), and our monthly sessions include nature-immersion activities, games, and challenges as practiced at GOS as well as engaging the home-study material around a fire.

This course is great for families. We offer a a nature program for children which runs at the same time: Coyote Kids (scroll down for more)

Unpacking the Content: group reflection and discussion on the theory and practice of mentorship & community building.

Coyote Kids is nature connection programming à la GOS for kids who have parents enrolled in the Coyote Mentorship Series. Staff from our regular weekly program engage kids in the very core routines of nature connection being discussed in the course. A great way to further experience and fully immerse in the course content.

Kids engage the foundational elements of GOS programs: tracking, mapping, plant ID, games and nature based challenges to get kids out of their academic heads, into their bodies, and onto the adventure trail.

Standard registration fee is $367.00 (taxes included) - sliding scale options always available.
